Important Information:
Student Voice this year has chosen some dates for spirit days. Our first spirit day will be on Thursday, October 29th. We are going to have Orange and Black Day. Let’s show some spirit in our school by dressing in these October colours.

Highlights:
- We learned two new double-graphemes: ed, or
- We had Gym today.

-- Ms. Mui’s class: We did “Read to Self” and “Read to Someone”.  We read our alphabet poems today.  We did “Work on Writing” and wrote about our favourite animal.  Our Reading Buddies came into our class today to help us make our Bat art; then we read to them.  In Science, we painted primary colours and made secondary colours into a colour wheel.  In Social Studies “Getting to Know You”, we interviewed Aryan.

-- Mrs. Daniels’ class: In Daily 5, we rotated into “Read to Self”, “Read to Someone”, “Work on Writing”, “Word Work”, and/or “Listen to Reading”.  We finished writing about why our favourite colour is the best.  In Science, we finished painting the primary colours and secondary colours on the “Mouse Paint” activity.  In Music, we practiced the beginning part of our Winter Concert song for the first time this afternoon!

-Review the learning of the “er”, “ir”, “ur”, “wor”, “ear” grapheme sounds by playing this song on youtube to remember the sounds to particular words: “Her first nurse works early”.  Please play this song at home, to help your child remember the grapheme spellings as well:

-Home-Reading – Please have your child read around 15 minutes every night.  If we run out of other titles of the Level A white paper books your child is currently reading for home-reading, please log your child onto his/her kidsa-z.com reading account to find other titles in Level A that he/she hasn’t read yet.  Then write down the title of that book onto your child’s “Reading Log”.  Your child will read 1 book a night.

-Kidsa-z.com Reading – Besides reading the at-home white readers that are going home every day, you may also log on to “Raz-Kids”, using the kidsa-z.com website.  The login information is taped on your child’s purple folder.  The password is the picture cue.
Mrs. Daniel’s class - the account information is still under her maiden name: “sbeechey”.
Ms. Mui’s class – the account is under her username: “grmui”
