Thursday, December 17, 2015 –
Pajama and Stuffy Day tomorrow. Wear
your pajamas and bring a small stuffed animal to school tomorrow!
Highlights:
We sang Christmas Carols this afternoon! The students who’s Library Day was today got
to share their 3 sentence clues for Letter B during Tell and Show. We did a
morning math word problem. We went to
Gym this afternoon.
Ms. Mui’s class: We did a
science assessment on what the Warm Colours and Cool Colours are. We found more colours from
flyers/magazines to add onto our group’s colour page for our Science “I Spy”
colour collage class book and have finished it!
Mrs. Daniel’s class: We made
holiday cards for someone special in writer’s workshop. We had a listening exercise in music
today. We had a “making words” lesson
focusing on the short letter a sound.
Homework:
-Tell and Show – Letter B written and oral sharings this week
(on your Library day).
-Tell and Show sharings for Letter C will resume the first
week of January, when students return back to school on Monday, January 4
- No Spelling homework until the New Year. Temporarily we will be reviewing graphemes
until Christmas break. Before the end of
Christmas Break, we will have a final quiz of all the 54 graphemes learned this
year. If your child needs more practice
catching up on the grapheme sounds, review the single and double grapheme
sounds over Christmas break, to prepare them for more challenging grapheme sounds
(3-letter graphemes) and Spelling words in the new year.

-Home-Reading – Please have your child read
around 20 minutes every night.
-Kidsa-z.com Reading – Besides
reading the at-home white readers that are going home every day, you may also
log on to “Raz-Kids”, using the kidsa-z.com website. The login
information is taped on your child’s purple folder. The password is
the picture cue.

you purchased from the School Council or wear blue or gold. We are encouraging students to purchase a PHS
shirt to support School Council.

purchased at the office, for students staying at school for lunch
-2016 Panorama Hills School Yearbook:
Inside your child’s individual photo package is
a white sheet about the 2016 PHS Yearbook. With the purchase of a
portrait package, yearbooks are available for the SPECIAL price of $20 each. This price expires on December
31, 2015. Yearbooks purchased after December 31, 2015 will be
priced at $30 each. Yearbooks will be printed and delivered to the
school in June.
