Highlights:
Students got to individually explore
Dreambox today, which allowed every child to deeply explore lessons and
skills. It was so quiet in each classroom, you could hear a pin drop!
Each of our gladiolus bulbs are really
starting to grow! In Mrs. Leung-Chow’s class we noticed that the tip of
our sprout has split into two separate leaves. I wonder… what will happen
next?
Homework:
Literacy M.A.P. – It’s
the weekend, take a Literacy M.A.P. break!
Tell and Show: Silently
and sneaky “s” is slithering up! Be safe, don’t be sorry and start your
homework now.
Dream Box: Dreambox
is an interactive math program that the students have been working on here at
school. We encourage the students to log in at home and practice
developing their problem solving skills. Teachers are able to track their
progress and see what areas they are excelling in or that may need improvement.

Home Reading –
Please have your child read around 20 minutes every night. Don’t forget
to engage your child by talking to them about the text. Being a good
reader is more than just knowing the words!! Good readers will: make
connections, ask and answer questions, visualize the text, make inferences and
transform their thinking.
Alternatives to Traditional Reading –
Part of being a good reader is understanding how to tell a story!
Sometimes listening to a good book is just as educational as reading a good
book. Please check out the links below for alternatives for those days where
you’d like to a change of pace.

We need volunteers! – All the grade 1

festival and will also be seeing a performance by Fred Penner. If you have
