Highlights:
Mrs. Leung-Chow’s class had a
sensational morning full of building and exploration! Scientist Tanya taught us that structures all
have at least one purpose: to span, to contain or to support. Students got to explore each of these ideas
through a series of centers. At the end
of the field trip, all our class “engineers” had to complete a special task:
create a stool out of only
newspaper and masking tape, which will support the weight of Mrs.
Leung-Chow! All the students worked very
hard to design and construct their stools, and the teacher carefully tested
each stool successfully!! Mrs. Daniel’s
class will get to be engineers tomorrow!
Yesterday Mr. Kinsman taught us a game
to help develop our mental math strategies. Today, students had an opportunity
to either play the same game, or play a subtraction game or an adding game with
3 die!!

We have been obsessed with this outgoing

Dream Box: Dreambox is an interactive math program that the students have been
working on here at school. We encourage
the students to log in at home and practice developing their problem solving
skills. Teachers are able to track their progress and see what areas they are
excelling in or that may need improvement. Here is the link: https://play.dreambox.com/login/dq8q/panoramahs
