Highlights:
Sprout watch is on! After planting our sunflowers last week,
students have been eagerly waiting for some signs of life. We have provided our little seeds with: sun,
water, soil and lots of love.
During our Daily 5 activities, some
students have been finding it challenging to come up with fun and unique
writing topics. With a partner, students
brainstormed different topics they would want to write about. They recorded their ideas on index cards and
wrote clarifying questions on the back.
Next time when we are unsure of what to write about, we can use our new
tool!
Students in Mrs. Leung-Chow’s class
learned a new math game today called “Connect 4”. This game combines addition skills and
strategy. We played it together as a
class on the SMART Board and will have a chance to play with a partner once we
gain a deeper understanding of the rules.
Homework:
Literacy
M.A.P. – Relax and enjoy the weather before studying again this Monday!
Tell
and Show: Time to take a partial break
before thinking about clues to describe our pal,
panicky letter “P”.
Dream Box: Dreambox is an interactive math program that the students have been
working on here at school. We encourage
the students to log in at home and practice developing their problem solving
skills. Teachers are able to track their progress and see what areas they are
excelling in or that may need improvement. Here is the link: https://play.dreambox.com/login/dq8q/panoramahs
