Highlights:
Panorama Hills School is going to be
hosting a Multi-Cultural Night in June and all the students have been asked to
create posters for the decorations. Our
class was asked to represent Canada and China. Today we got to use finger paint as a base
for our mosaic flags. It was messy, but
fun… the best kind of art!
Mr. Kinsman needed our help! All his blocks have been mixed up and he
needs to figure our how many blocks are there altogether. Students worked together in groups of three
and decided the most efficient way to figure out the answer was to group the
blocks into 10’s. We had to stop for
gym before coming up with a total, but we’ll continue this work throughout the
week.

Dream Box: Dreambox is an interactive math program that the students have been
working on here at school. We encourage
the students to log in at home and practice developing their problem solving
skills. Teachers are able to track their progress and see what areas they are
excelling in or that may need improvement. Here is the link: https://play.dreambox.com/login/dq8q/panoramahs
Home Reading – Please
have your child read around 20 minutes every night. Don’t
forget to engage your child by talking to them about the text. Being a good reader is more than just
knowing the words!! Good readers
will: make connections, ask and answer questions, visualize the text, make
inferences and transform their thinking.
Alternatives to Traditional Reading – Part of
being a good reader is understanding how
to tell a story! Sometimes listening to a good book is just as
educational as reading a good book.
Please check out the links below for alternatives for those days where you’d
like to a change of pace.
