Highlights:
Today we got to meet an important
member of our community… Constable George Kovacs! He has been with the police force for 10
years and loves working with the schools and teaching children. Did you know his most important tools are his
brain and his heart?
Students in Mrs. Daniel’s class got a
chance to explore on the laptops this afternoon. The boys and girls got to explore on a
wonderful website called ABCya. Try
some of the programs and games at home.
Did you know that Mrs. Dobler has
completed 2 Iron Man races? She shared
her experiences with us today in gym. We
even had a chance to compete in our own triathlon!
Homework:
No Literacy M.A.P. homework for the
weekend, just keep on reading!
Tell
and Show – Next week we start the letter “H”. Some students were finding it difficult to
finish their printing and their colouring on the same night. If this is happening, try starting
the page earlier and do a little each night to spread out the work into more
manageable chunks.
Home Reading – Please
have your child read around 20 minutes every night. Don’t forget to ask questions and have
conversations about the text.
Kidsa-z.com Reading –
Besides reading the at-home white readers that are going home every day, you
may also log on to “Raz-Kids”, using the kidsa-z.com website. The
login information is taped on your child’s purple folder.
