Highlights:
Mrs. Leung-Chow’s class played a math
game called “Make Me 10”. Using 10 frame
cards, students work together in pairs, putting all the cards facedown. Then they take turns to flip two cards over, create a math equation with the numbers and record their answers in their
math book. If it equals 10, they get to
keep them!
We finally got a chance to see what
Gabe looked like today… and he was scary! Click here to watch the story unfold. In class we got a chance to play with “juicy” sentences to describe Gabe,
making comparisons using the words “like” or “as”.
Here are some examples:
-
Gabe was as green as the grass in summer!
-
Gabe’s claws are as sharp as a knife!
-
Gabe’s teeth were like swords!
-
Gabe’s eyes were as red as apples!
This afternoon we had a very special
guest in our school. Kirstin from Jump
Rope for Heart came to share a special story. Once upon a time there was a little boy named
Owen who was born with a bad heart.
Thanks to funds raised by people like us, Owen now has had three heart
surgeries and is a healthy, happy little boy. Please help the Heart and Stroke Foundation fundraise money to help other people like Owen.
