Today in class we got to “monkey”
around in art, completing our Chinese New Year projects. To go along with our finger print animals,
every student also set a personal goal for the rest of the year, as well as two
strategies to help them achieve their target.
Some students wanted to read chapter books by June, while other students
wanted to be better at mental math.
Mrs. Daniel’s class had a visit from
their Grade Three buddies today. Students
loved reading a new book together and having discussions about what they had
read.
Mrs. Leung-Chow’s class played “Make Me
10” with a new partner today. Students
are starting to use different math strategies to help them solve math equations
(eg. 100’s chart, making a “10” then counting on, fingers or mental math).
Today was our last day skipping in
gym. I wonder what new and exciting
thing we will do in gym next?!?
