Highlights:

To celebrate all the learning we have done in science with the 5 senses, our classes are creating a multi-media art project.  We will be using burlap, glass, wool, paint, ink and paper to create a self-portrait.  The first step today was to sketch our ear using a mirror, then we used our sketch and created a model using clay.  It was messy, loud and TONS of fun!

Did you know that all authors have to edit their work?  Students were challenged to work together with a friend to find at least three spelling errors in their goal writing.  Then their job was to use their personal dictionaries to correct their work.

Tell and Show – This week it’s all about “J”!  All the clues have put us into a “jolly” and “joyous” mood.

Home Reading – Please have your child read around 20 minutes every night.  Don’t forget to ask questions and have conversations about the text.

Kidsa-z.com Reading – Besides reading the at-home white readers that are going home every day, you may also log on to “Raz-Kids”, using the kidsa-z.com website.  The login information is taped on your child’s purple folder.

Reminders: 

Volunteers for Mrs. Leung-Chow’s in class field trip tomorrow, please meet in room 496 at 12:30pm for help with set up and instructions.

Please register your child at www.jumpropeforheart.ca for our school fundraiser.  Everyone receives a skipping rope for FREE, just by signing up.

Don’t forget to read, sign and return the blue field trip form by Monday, February 29^th, for our school wide field trip to the CIS International Women’s hockey game. If you are interested in volunteering for this event, please fill in the bottom portion of the white parent letter and you will be e-mailed back with a response.  For this field trip, all volunteers must have a police clearance!

SPRING FOOD DRIVE

Panorama Hills School will be hosting a Spring Food Drive from Feb. 29 - March 17. Please bring non-perishable food items (see below list) and place them in the donation boxes in the Grand Hall. Please see our newsletter page for more information.

Non-Perishable Items: canned soup, canned fruit, canned veggies, dry pasta, pasta sauce, fruit juice boxes, rice, peanut butter, canned fish, canned meat and protein, baby food, diapers

2016 Panorama Hills School Yearbook:

Inside your child’s individual photo package is a white sheet about the 2016 PHS Yearbook.   Yearbooks are $30 each.  Yearbooks will be printed and delivered to the school in June.
